The Full Story

The Franconia Rink Project

The Franconia Rink Project is proposing a refrigerated ice rink with a roof and solar panels at the current rink location at the town hall, behind the library in Franconia, NH. This facility would be open year round and would provide a covered facility for pickle ball, basketball, soccer, farmer's markets, ice skating, hockey, broom ball in the winter and more.  Our goal is to revitalize our existing skating rink, in it's current location and at it's current size 60' x 170'.  Our mission is to preserve the tradition of ice skating and hockey for future generation and along the way create a wonderful, four season recreation area for our community rain or shine.

Mission

Let’s revitalize our community skating rink and preserve the tradition of skating and ice sports in our community for generations to come! In the process of building this rink we will create a year round recreation facility, with a roof! Imagine pickleball, basketball and a community gathering space for farmers markets, concerts and more.

Vision

February, 2018, amazing day skating on Frog Pond in Boston. The sun was out, the temperature was 5o+ degrees and although there was an inch of water on
the rink, the idyllic Boston Common rink was open. It was a wonderful time and it was at that point that we took note, if we can skate in Boston in full sun and
warm temperatures, we can save our own skating rink. And so it began...
